"This place is a treasure. The specials were exactly that, special and you haven't had japanese food as good as this outside Japan, not even in Auckland . My extremely well priced special was a bowl with 4 different options inside. Too good to describe but honestly, this place is a destination. Make an effort and check it out. Itadakimasu!"

"Went here in recommendation from a work friend, for a lunch meeting. It was excellent! And so I then had to bring my husband to try it as well. It’s tucked away a little from the street. There is so much to choose from on the food menu and the drinks menu. We tried a lot of different dishes. Everything was a presented so beautifully with flowers cut out of carrot slices, etc. Everything was delicious. The staff were very attentive and explained the food and how each is usually enjoyed. It was a fabulous experience and I can’t wait to go back."

"Food is overall good except for the tempura sauce and chicken are under-seasoning. Love the grill fish. Beautiful plating. The biggest drawback is the dishes are served really slow. There was only one table before us (about 8 people) and it took 30 minutes for our first dish to be served. I guess there’s only one chef cooking. Would like to come again but would definitely check how many customers are already there before entering."

"Lovely, fresh, tasty food. Pictures don't do the dishes justice as the restaurant is quite dim. The seafood lovers deluxe set is a highlight, with the largest variety I've experienced in Hamilton, for a very reasonable price. Recommend arriving early or making a reservation. We arrived at opening and were immediately seated, food came quickly. By the time we finished the restaurant was near capacity and the single wait staff was run off his feet."

"Delicious food. Some wait time for food to come out. Portions and price are reasonable. A bit dark and slightly cold at the restaurant on a winters day for us."

"The food is fantastic!! The sashimi is so fresh and the flavours in all the meals were exquisite and beautifully presented. They had a fantastic variety of plum wines, sake and fruit liqueurs and offered tasting plates for all these which were a great way to figure out what you liked. They were all delicious. The service was incredible! Very knowledgeable about the menu and very attentive to all the customers. There was a bit of a wait time from ordering to getting your food so would recommend ordering a few starters early to get you going. The server was very honest about this wait time which was appreciated and I think booking helped reduce the time as they could plan for people coming in. The food was definitely worth it though so we didn’t mind. It is a cosy vibe and would highly recommended this restaurant."

"We adore this place - they serve incredibly fresh fish (their nigiri platter is delicious!), freshest fish in Hamilton. Their food is always perfectly cooked and beautifully prepared. Beer is ice cold, sake is delicious and hot (if you like it that way) and their service is warm and personable. We can’t say enough about this place and the rad people that run it"

"First time dining here tonight as a family of three after dining as a couple 4 years ago. Truly, some things never change: great service and authentic Japanese food is superb! My husband has high standards for Japanese cuisine and he loved our food — compliment to the chef! Most especially, the the one who welcomed, served and singlehandedly dealt with the guests is truly commendable. Will definitely dine here again."
